Riya Barde, also known as Arohi Barde, is a well-known adult film actress from Bangladesh who was recently arrested, along with seven other women, for staying in India illegally using forged documents. The 22-year-old reportedly obtained an Indian passport with fake papers and had been living in India with her mother, brother, and sister.

Media reports suggest that Riya’s mother married an Amravati resident, Arvind Barde, to help the family stay in India. While Riya is now in police custody, authorities are still searching for her family members. According to a police report cited by The Times of India, Riya’s parents are currently in Qatar, while her brother and sister remain unaccounted for. All family members had assumed new identities: her mother, Anjali Barde (also known as Ruby Sheikh), her father, Arvind Barde, her brother, Ravindra (also known as Riyaz Sheikh), and her sister, Ritu (also known as Moni Sheikh), as reported by Firstpost.

The situation came to light after one of Riya’s friends discovered her Bangladeshi origins and alerted the police, leading to an investigation into her residency documents. Police sub-inspector Sangram Malkar, who led the case, stated that they found Riya’s mother, Anjali, to be originally from Bangladesh and living illegally in India with her children. Anjali allegedly married Arvind Barde, pretending to be from West Bengal, and used forged birth certificates and other fake documents to obtain Indian passports for herself and her children.

Riya Barde’s Connection to Raj Kundra

It has been reported that Riya Barde worked with Raj Kundra’s production company and appeared in multiple films, including projects with actress Gehana Vasisth. She was previously arrested by Mumbai Police in connection with a prostitution case under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. However, Raj Kundra, who is married to Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, has denied any association with Riya Barde. In a statement, Kundra clarified that he has never met her or employed her in any of his companies. “These reports claim that an individual, allegedly an illegal immigrant, worked for me or one of my production companies. I want to be very clear – I have never met this person, nor have I ever owned or been involved with any production company that employed her,” Kundra stated, according to India Today.
